looks like i might need a new one - but bearing in mind that the 'marine' premium adds a large cost, does anyone know what the car spare part equivalent for these engines is?
I agree that an auto electrical firm is your best bet.
Danbury Auto electrical 01245 225718 did a rewind for me for a fraction of the cost of a new one.[at least they said they did, may have just wiped it with an oily rag]. Also did it for the next day.
There is probably a firm in Burnham but I've not used them.
First stop would be an auto electrician to get it checked and reconditioned. I have just had my Volvo one done for less than one third of the cost of a new one. Two days turnaround.
See if you can find your local Kubota agent and have a word with them. The 40 amp Alt. is a standard Kubota part.looks like i might need a new one - but bearing in mind that the 'marine' premium adds a large cost, does anyone know what the car spare part equivalent for these engines is?
