I am re-wiring my boat. I am using tinned marine wire for long runs to nav lights etc but I am not clear about the best quality wire to use for nav instruments which run off a small current. What do you suggest?

Tinned wire is still best, and particularly where you are making lots of connections as that's where tinned wire excels.

FWIW I used normal copper cable throughout the boat, and all cable runs are easily accessed for repairs / replacement of cable if (when) I have any problems.

The smaller the wire the more ciritical it is to use tinned wire cos corrosion causes more problem with less meat to eat. For this reason you might consider using relatively heavy wire even for tiny current instrument lines. olewill
