Bloody hell! 400 litres on a Folkboat! I realise now that I have been far too abstemious all my life.
As it is now just past 1800 hrs, excuse me while I dive for the bottle....

We love the Croatian wines, particularly the whites like Grasevina which is a bit like a Chenin Blanc - slightly more full-bodied that a Pino Grigio. On the boat we tend to buy 3L boxes which cost about £4. We always have one in the freezer and it turns into a sort of alcoholic slush-puppy which is really refreshing when the temperature is above 30 degrees, which it was every day during June, July and August this year.

Of course, because we are driving, every space in the car is filled with the bottles and boxes on the way home! :encouragement:

Plus one for Croatia - we tried to sample the best of the very locally produced wines in our years there and loved good Babic, Posip, and Malvasia. Grasevina also very drinkable and if it led to hangovers it was due to too much, not poor wine.

nonsence; the best wine on the planet is Mavrothafni.:encouragement:

My wife agrees with you but it's much too sweet for drinking with dinner. I have been surprised at how much better Greek wines there are by spending just a little more. We have lived on Apelia red for years but spending about €5 per bottle instead of half that the quality improves greatly.

Apelia Red is indeed a lovely red wine. We've been paying 10.50 Euro for a 5 litre cask. Guess we should be bringing some back for xmas then!
