best ways to heat boat

This won't work overnight, because of the jolly CO japes already mentioned, but go down to your local Garden Centre and buy a ceramic flower pot with a rim big enough to rest on the top of your alcohol stove when turned upside down. Light the burner, invert the pot and position it over the flames. The flames warm up the pot, which then radiates heat into the cabin whilst keeping the flame enclosed.

Total price? about a fiver. Sorted - but don't forget to let the pot cool down before lifting it off the stove /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif.

What women look for in a boat - heating

Does SWMBO use the boat, or are you expecting her to? If so my advice is invest in decent heating (which I think means an eberspacher or similar) and you will have a happier crew and get much more use out of the boat. I have seen second hand units go for £200-£300 on e-bay, which is cheap if it means you get to use the boat more?

Apologies to any female forumites for my gross generalisation above, i'm sure you're also interested in what colour the curtains are /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

yes the heat is for the wife, not me.

i only want a cheap option as this is our learner boat if we like boating we are going to buy a bigger boat and hopefully have heating options from factory build. i dont want to spend money unless i have to.

its the yorkshire in me.

to 'like boating' you will need to be comfortable. cheap (temporary) fine - cheap ( minimal) isn't as obviously is any compromise on safety.
