If there is an owners association for you make of boat, then advertise the sails there.

It would also be wise to add the dimension from the clew to the luff. Also include the I and J measurements for your boat.

I have bought second hand sails with some success via the Facebook Yachts and Bits (or something) group.

I asked for a specific mainsail by boat type and got three responses, chose the best. It think it helps to mention the boat. Surprising how many people have a yacht, get new sails, put the old ones in the attic and forget them when they sell.

All good and easy though I have a long standing dislike of Facebook.

Put them on agency sale with Exchange Sails. With a bit of luck they'll sell them half a dozen times before actually sending them out.

Or do what I did many years ago.

Drop a load of unwanted headsails off with Westaway with a promise to sell.

Never hear from them again.

Never answered any messages I left.

Eventually they complained of all the negative publicity on these pages and I spoke to someone who offered me a discount on a new sail. I don't want a new sail so I've written off my loss.

Given that they have applied for voluntary strike off with Companies House and you are a creditor, they should have written to you, or they are in breach of article 1006 (or is it 1007? I forget) of the companies act.

If you have time, you could always write to companies house and object as a creditor, preventing them from striking off the company. It only takes one person to object to stop it going through ... you never know, they may prefer to pay you out to allow the company to be struck from the register ... basically, if you do want your mon ey back, now is the time!

Good one...This has gone on for far too long....

Surely, if you only placed the goods with them, for promise of sale, then the goods are still yours, unless sold. Demand that they be returned. If they sold them & never told you, then that is fraudulent & you have a case against the directors for theft. For that they cannot hide behind company law. Can they?

Back to the OP’s question. Use eBay and Facebook group called ‘Yachts and Yachty bits for sale”. Mention the boat type they came off. Be realistic as to price. Those are big bags to have hanging around so a few quid in the bank is a result. Why are you selling them?

Ebay. I sold some off my Mirage 28 but didn't get much for them. If I did it again I would use fixed price or best offer. Don't overestimate their value or they won't sell.
