Not sure what you base your opinion of long arms on?The little ones are good enough but as said can be a sod to squeeze, the lazy tongs are by far the best, but you have to be careful as when the rivet pops they have a tendency to jump about and the tip can hit whatever surface you are riveting, the long arm ones are quite frankly ****, only use they have is for setting the 1/4 dia rivets.....

As an apprentice i sometimes did tasks that required hundreds of pop rivets every day. We had lazy tongs and long arms both of good quality. For preference i used the long arms, but if someone else got them first i used the lazy tongs without complaint.
Prefer the wieldiness and control of long arms.
Not much in it but key point is whatever you get, get good quality.
