Each to their own, but whilst found Mark Fishwick (and the others in this series) excellent and the Channel Pilot useful, the Secret Anchorages book I found the most useless - as very few of the places were different from the ones in the main pilot books, many were no longer anchorages but clogged now by moorings and, for us, many were to shallow for us.
But each to their own preferences

I do agree that buying good paper pilot books is a treat for winter reading and dreaming (hopefully converted to actual voyages, depending on weather conditions). I use lots of digital sources but have a shelf at home full of treasured pilot books from Sweden to New Zealand which I will never part with (except for one which was left in the marina free book shelf :)
