Best sailing trollies (read trousers, not undies!)

I have never been one for wearing jeans onboard (devil's cloth don't you know...) and used to have some very comfortable cotton sailing trousers with reinforced seat and knees from Slam till they were half hinched from a drying room.

Currently looking at the offerings and would be interested in what experience says is good - particularly for bouncing about as a short handed sailor! (not sure how hard wearing quick drying walking trousers are with anti slip deck surfaces.

These are pretty good, quick drying, and seem to wear quite well. (Mine are three years old and haven't had a SWMBO banning order.)

Not good for yacht club kudos though!

I buy fairly cheap Regatta polycotton walking trousers from camping shops (often on two-for-one sale). Until now they've always been trashed (or rendered into tar-stained painting clothes) by Tall Ships voyages, but since I've stopped doing that I guess I'll find out how long they last on a yacht. Still looking good for now

So did I. I didn't bother to open the thread for ages, until curiosity got the better of me and I wondered what answers people were coming up with regarding the best underwear for sailing.

I was sailing a couple of weeks ago with a crew member who was very proud of his breathable shorts if that's any help?

Get yourself down to Screwfix (other cheap tool/work clothing outlets are available) and investigate their options for work trousers.... tough, hard wearing, often come with inserts to put foam pads in (for knee's and the like), loads of pockets, and hideously cheap....
