Best Route to Largs Towing please

As stated traffic was not an issue but the condition of the roads after we came off the M8 caused a lot of things to work loose.

We came back via Irvine and the A71 which is what a yacht delivery truck driver suggested. That was ok but through a good few towns/villages.

We were especially pleased at about 21.00 on our back to put the boat on Windermere to get notification that Junction 36 South Lakes, a route we know well, was shut. Junction 38, A6 and through Kendal was ok (Scenery stunning) but not what I wanted after 2 long days.

Going was interesting as well. I didn't know it was fair day in Knutsford with the main road through closed until it was too late to go back. The small road by the side of Booths to the M6 link road which we take with care in the car was interesting with the boat on the back. Fortunately there were traffic marshalls, parking had been suspended and the road made 2 way with traffic control.

We really enjoyed ourselves on the Clyde where we saw few other boats sailing, the weather was favourable, cold but no rain, nice winds, and midges only 2 evenings. It was good to practice a bit of basic pilotage/navigation not to mention use of radio. Wished we could have stayed longer.
