Hello,

After a long absence from the forum due to having 2 boats cracking me up. We have finally decided the only way we are going to get back on the water anytime soon, is to off load the new one (Four Winns 248 Vista) I bought and sit patiently for the insurance to settle up on the other (Rinker 266).

This will be my first foray into boat sales and as such I am looking for any advice / info on the best website / medium to use (and maybe some to avoid).

I have put together what I consider to be a decent slideshow and some nice photographs of her.

ANY help greatly appreciated.

THANKS in advance.

Apolloduck and Boats and Outboards both get regular favourable mentions on here. eBay is another possibility.

There are occasional reports on here of various attempted scams being carried out by potential purchasers, but you'll probably be aware of that kind of thing.

Is there any kind of Four Winns Owners'club? I guess that's another possibility.

Good luck!

Thanks for that info - I had taken a look at both of the boat sales websites you mention. Knowing they are respectable is good to hear.

I had already stuck her on eBay over the weekend, I have a few watchers and have had a couple of offers of sorts.

THANKS AGAIN.

E bay is great for an advert, I would also try Boatshed ......and maybe see if Essex Boatyards have anything you fancy, they did us a great part ex in 2007!

Hello Mate,

The last thing I really want is another boat, it is the Four Winns 248 that I am selling and if I am honest I would struggle to find another boat that I like as much as I do her.

We are only in this situation as we can no longer afford to just sit with 2 boats not knowing what to do next. The insurance seem to be sorting the Rinker 266, just very slowly.

It has made me ill at times wondering when it is all going to be finally concluded.

Hence, the plan to get shut of our more preferred boat (the Four Winns) and keep the Rinker why she is "getting sorted".

In an ideal world I would wait until the Rinker was fixed and sell her and keep the Four Winns. Alas, we can wait no longer.

There are certainly buyers out there. As you can imagine though, people are being very cautious and taking their time to look for the right boat at the right price.

Thanks again. I suppose it is an understatement at present to call it a buyers market .

Just to clarify. The boat we are selling is NOT Take5 - it is the one we bought to replace Take5.

Try also rightboat.com, that's where we found ours a year or so back.

Thanks. We hadn't seen that one.

I,ve noticed peeps tagging their boats for sale on posts.
I presume this is 'within' the rules?

Nice result. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I had an offer on the Four Winns within 30 mins of putting it on eBay. It was a fair offer just wasn't what I was looking for (involving numerous swaps).

Take 5
I run a small brokerage specialising in Moody Yachts at the moment. I want to expand this to all boats. I am starting offering a fixed price service. £10 per month and £499 on completion. info@just-yachts com if you want more details.
Best of luck with the sale if not

Hi saddle_tramp,

I will be in touch when I have had time to consider all our options.

Thanks for the offer and very best of luck with the business.

as you don't mind to drive her down, and you have the trailer, it's an option to put her for sale in Spain, especially now with the currency.
I have been able to sell 2 previous boats on here:

http://www.cosasdebarcos.com/nav_barcos_search.cfm

is foc and works quite good,

a high quality canopy on my boats made the sale go easy, but Spanish boat owners don't want a trailer, so you probably have to offer her without.

but it's still a shame that you have to sell your preferred boat,
I can imagine that you have well considered all options
good luck with it !

MANY THANKS for that link - It is timing our for me at the mo, will try it again later - Mucho appreciated.
