Best looking GRP boats ever

For a MAB I do quite rate mine for RAF....But agree with many of the previous particularly the sigmas, waquiez boats and the modern dufours particularly the 365.

Whilst reading books and putting the kids to bed Fisher 34 floated across my mind.

I saw one of these in the flesh the other day - very pretty (Morris M29):

Nothing a good cut and polish couldn't sort out:

They used to do this with the Duchess of York. Take photos that made her look more ugly!

It must be distortion with the camera lens. Surely it doesn't look like a banana in plan.

As photographers we were sometimes stuck with mundane things like passport photo's; we had 2 hackneyed but true phrases on the relevant wall,

" If you actually look like your passport photo you aren't well enough to be travelling "

and " if it looks like you, come back and we'll do another one ".

'The camera never lies' ? When taking pictures for ( usually aggrieved ) BAe technicians, my opening gambit was ' Do we want to make this look good or bad ? " !

Not sure about Fergie ( though suspect the T-shirt wouldn't be worth it nowadays ), but must say I have my doubts about the banana boat even allowing for lenses.

Did the hoodie come with it? :D

You will notice that the outboard is missing from the bracket. ;)

Actuallly it's the same tactic as dangling fake birds from the rigging to stop the others fouling the decks, we put a tame hoody on the stern to keep the others away.

.... and before anyone asks, if a bird fouls the decks I don't invite her on board again.

Scary pic, hey? No idea what happened. Better pics about, but I liked (?) this one.

Forestay over-tightened a bit? :D

I think the Piper, called Pied Piper and moored at Strawberry Gardens on Windermere pr4esently, is as lovely a boat as I have ever seen. Sadly no photos but it is the class from which the mold for the Rival 24 was taken - just a cleaner line or so it seems to me.

Here you go ... My lovely yacht, & she sails as well as she looks.
