best logbook

As others I made my own. I use a Filofax size

NavLog.jpg

Very nice but I was taught never to use To: a destination - always use Towards:

Something to do with not counting chickens I assume.

Log Book

Made my own - A4 spiral bound - 30 double pages each one. I also included a space for crew on board.
Other home made docs, some perhaps a bit over the top but might be useful under some circumstances.
Pre-departure check list (a bit like on an aircraft but a lot shorter )
Passage plan (three sheets)
Maintenance log - computer based -print out from time to time and file in a four ring binder)

Cheers,

Michael.

hi guys, cheers for your replys and i already keep an electronic log - say if the book got wet and ruined, then its backup.

I didn't even consider doing one myself?! silly me.

i'll pop down to staples at the weekend and get a pukka pad (and possibly a pukka pie if i go home via olivers chippy) and do it that way :D

Now that dementure has surely begun, I've started an alphabetically Indexed A4 hard cover book with the outside title saying 'where is it?' :)

Trouble is do I list 'bits of string' under 'L' for Lines, 'R' for Ropes or what?

Both.

And under C for Cordage and S for String.

The clever bit is that you use little bits of string to link the entries together, forming some kind of, err, "web" ;->
