My boat has a Taylor's paraffin cooker and heater, and I have been buying fuel at B&Q - but £5.98 for 4 litres seems a bit steep - any clues on a more reasonable supplier?
best (cheapest) place to get paraffin?

Some agricultural suppliers sell it from a pump, like a petrol pump. Take along a suitable container and you can buy it by the jerry can load at quite a saving.

They closed down a few weeks ago. Which was a real shame as they were handy for the boat and had reasonable prices

I expect you know this but some (cheaper?) paraffin is smellier than others. The B&Q is rebadged Bartoline IIRC and seems to be OK but we have had some other stuff that make us cry!

Mica Hardware seems to be a franchise type set up. we have one locally known as

Have you tried central heating oil, 28 sec not the 35 sec. It is almost the same as paraffin and I use it in my heaters and lamps.

Thought about central heating oil - but IIRC, it all seemed set up for great big deliveries to a fixed tank. Maybe I could raid my sister's - but Norfolk is a fair way to go...

Oils suppliers will fill a five gallon drum if you go to their depot, failing that ask Bartoline who stocks it in your area

Some filling stations also sell drums of ch oil for emergency run-outs.
