Best Bucket?

I'm with Sarabande.

"Calf Buckets" from a farm shop are slightly shorter & wider than usual (suitable for washing up if you keep it clean) so very stable & easier to stow. Very rugged & strong, cost about a fiver. I stow mine in the cockpit locker with a medium round fender inside. It takes up little more room than the fender on its own.

Other than that go to a pound shop once a season - similar total cost perhaps, but less capital outlay!

I have a little blue canvas bucket with a wooden base approx 8" in dia and 10" tall. It leaks a bit but at least I can get seawater on board when roaring along without it taking my arm off.
