Best bait/lure for bass at far end of skerries bank?

Anybody experience of best to put on the end of the line for decent size bass at the far end of the skerries(dartmouth). Done the Gurnard and skate etc but after advice. Going in the morning for the day.

I'd imagine live sandeel, outfished anything else for bass (or it did back when I was a kid).

You'll need to find them first using the smallest hooked mackerel feathers available, then a live bait well to keep them in
