Berthing or Mooring Yorkshire Coast

I'm toying with buying a 26 foot bilge keeler (maybe a bit bigger we'll see). Can anyone please comment on berthing/mooring options, costs, known waiting lists other pros and cons for Scarborough, Whitby and I guess the next one is Hartlepool? All info gratefully received by this novice.

If you're willing to go a bit further north, have a look at RNYC at Blyth. I have a Tomahawk 25 there. Lot cheaper than marinas and can get in and out any state of tide. No problems with winter mooring space but don't know what the situation is for this summer

I have had bilge keelers in the various ports you mention for the last 25 years. The answer to your question probably depends on where you live.
My thoughts are
- Bridlington - nearly all of it dries
- Scarborough - attractive town with access at about 3 hours before and after HW, you may have to join the queue for a pontoon berth. Downside is trying to get up and down the overloaded A64
- Whitby - lovely town full of life, access restricted by bridge to 2 hours either side of HW , over the HW access period the tide barrels South, again roads are mad at wekends if you are coming up the A64
- Hartlepool - post industrial town with lots of shops and restraunts, great marina with over 3 h +/- acccess, great road access via A19 , 24/7 sea access if you get a berth at Kafega Landing, from here there are great places to visit going both N and S
- Seaham - visit it and make your own mind up.
