Can I share this with you: When on a flotilla holiday in Greece two years ago the flotilla leader was giving us all a first day briefing. They explained when we came into a birth they would see us in. If I point right go slightly right if I point right in rapid succession go right more rapidly, the same for left was explained. If I wave downward slow down. Somebody asked what would he do if they got it completely wrong, he replied you will know because I will be running up the jetty.
Fortunatly nobody did as far as I know. I think the fear of getting it wrong is the one thing that somehow ensures it will go wrong.
So keep calm.
