Berthing costs in the Med - Majorca

If you do get to Es Grau, try and get a table on the terrace at Restaurant Tamarindos, 971 359 420. The food is OK, but the setting is great, especially if you time it to be there for sunset. You can dingy to quay side and then its a short walk through the village.

The best anchorage is to enter from the north of isla colom and tuck in behind the island. Be careful when going ashore in the tender as there are some VERY shallow parts between the island and the shore going towards the town.

cheers, Simon.

Thanks Simon this is my reply that I posted on SCMCHAT

Just read your post but that is EXACTLY what we have just done
Even got that exact table you said

We picked up a buoy where you said and checked the village out this afternoon after checking the depth for the dinghy in daylight
Then we watched the sunset from that table and got back to the boat at dusk - just as the French yachties arrived

We will probably have lunch in Mahon and get back to Alcudia tomorrow evening

Thanks for your advice - it was just as you said

Hurricane,

Thanks for your tips. I'm in Menorca in July on hols as have abandoned holiday on the boat in the UK. Problem with Menorca is there are no cheap flights from Bournemouth only Thomson and their prices are eye watering for 4 people!! For this relocation to work we need to use Bournemouth airport as it's only 30 mins from home so a no brainer to place boat somewhere utilising that airport along with cheap flights and Majorca happens to fit the bill.
Cala D'Or seems to me, after all the helpful comments on here , to be a good fit although quite expensive.

Have you checked out the prices and facilities in Sant Carles?
As I said above it is way cheaper than keeping a boat in the UK
Great British community - see my posts with Simon

You can also sign up to our berth holders forum for free and see what everyone is saying about the place.

Loads of helpful people and quite a few of us head over to the islands and meet up - party time!
