Berth renewal

You're right. I guess no one wants to admit that they've made a bad choice - though no one at Granary or Fox's would defend their showers or loos :D

I pay double what you pay.
we have 24/7 access in a well protected full service marina with the best marina staff on the East Coast.Special haul-out rates for annual berth holders, good inexpensive food on site with entertainment every month al no cost to FMYC members.
toilet block as you say is lacking

Actually, I beg to differ.
Sometimes the toilet is blocked.

Last winter they were closed altogether for a few days. Fortunately we have two onboard.

Roger you love Fox's like Seajet loves his Anderson 22, it's a deep and loyal affection. Fox's is a great marina, I wasn't knocking it, it's just that there are other marinas which are just as good, albeit with different mixes of good and bad points.

Yours has a very small tidal window + the Deben Bar.
i would / could move but the other marina`s have other problems too. as it is we get very good service @ Fox`s.
i could of course always use my mooring ;)

Just had the renewal from SYH Levington.Up 2.5% for next year from 1st April. On top of a 4.66% increase this year.SYH say that the berths were full but many of the moorings outside were vacant all year.Friends who had been on the waiting list for several years suddenly got letters offering berths last year !.I think SYH are beginning to push their luck a bit.It is difficult to see what advantage berthholders actually get from the new office block. It has space to let still.
On the plus side when I pointed out that there were no trollies on the gangway I use they said they had some on order. How many I said.14 was the reply which is 2 per gangway or about one per 40 boats.I was pleasantly surprised to see a few new ones at the top of the gangway. This did not last long as the new ones have been moved to other gangways and we now have all the old crudy ones.Must be grateful for small murphies I suppose.
