Mein Fuhrer and I had breakfast at Benson Cruiser Station today. The river narrows quite tightly there and the current is really ripping through.
What disturbed me was the people walking their toddlers right near the edge. One slip and a child would be gone, sucked under all the moored hireboats. I put my hand up and asked permission to speak to Mein Fuhrer and when she nodded her approval I mentioned that even if John or Dot Blake had fallen in there they would have a problem getting out. For those that don't know the Blakes are ex- Olympic Swimmers.

On past performance, if Dot had fallen in John would have asked her if there was enough water for him to moor up in safely before helping her out!
