Hi,

One of my Bennett trim tab switches went kaput on the way to Cowes today.

Not a fault in the system, the actual port side switch has gone all limp and doesn't click home went its pressed.

I've stripped it down but looks like a replacement is the best solution, any ideas as to who the uk dealer is on Bennett stuff??

Regards,

Paul.

Thanks all for the replies.

I've had a pm saying someone might have a spare hanging around..... Is going to let me know later.

If not I'll post a picture Piers, see if you can help?? I have seen the hull truth post, guess its a weak link in the system??

Failing that it's hand in my pocket time..... Hope get it sorted for the weekend.

Paul,

How old is the switch? We haven't made one where screws are visible in the bezel for quite a few years.

http://www.marinecomponents.co.uk/ is indeed our distributor in the UK and would be the place to start if you need to purchase a replacement.

Hi Tom,

Thanks for getting in touch. It's 2004 so 8 years old now??Bdo you do a current replacement that has the same foot print as the old?? Save me doing surgery to the dash??

Let me see if a spare turns up, if not I'll be in touch with marine components tomorrow.

Thanks

Paul.

Paul,

The current switches have the same footprint, but you will have to enlarge the hole about 1/16".

Sorry to hijack this post, but as my query also relates to a Bennett trim tab switch, I thought I would join in. :)

My trim tabs are controlled by the 'normal' Bennett twin-switch, which doesn't give any indication of the position of the tabs.

I see that Bennett offer a different type of switch which has lights to show the tabs positions, (you also have to fit some new parts and wiring to the rams), and I would like to know if anyone has fitted this option and, if so, have they seen any benefits from knowing the tabs position?

Thanks in advance.
