The twats that were recomended to service the boat, were specially asked to hook up the boat to electric and mend the trim tabs whilst the boat was out.

Three weeks later, they have done none of that, so they can stuff servicing it as well.

Now, I know about zerro about trim tabs, cos they've always worked. Now one works but tuther dont, but motor seems to run ok. Hopefully, it's not the ram on the tab , or it's going to be a cold wet job. So what other thing might it be. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Not sure of your set up so don't shoot me down in flames but if its a single motor most likely either both or neither will work, might be worth checking that hoses are ok and no air locks.

3. If one trim tab operates and the other one does not:
• Inspect for disconnected or corroded red or green valve wire
connections at helm control and quick-disconnect plug. (Red wire
operates port trim tab; green wire operates starboard trim tab).
• Reverse hydraulic lines at front of HPU to determine if malfunction
is in HPU or actuator / hydraulic connections. If after reversing lines,
symptom shifts to other trim tab, malfunction may exist in HPU. If
symptom remains on the same side, malfunction may exist with the
actuator/hydraulic connections.

Had a quick poke about yesterday at 17.30 hours.
There are 2 wee round cylindrical things on the top.

When Hadyn operated the port side control tab I felt no action in the H pipe for that side.
Plus the 'noise' for the 'bow up' attitude from the pump was different to starboard side.

Kinda wimpish and tired, best I can describe.
Was gonna whip it off tommorow am and stick leccy to it and isolate the switch control panel.
Swapping the H pipes is a good idea too.

Good advice Chaps.

If you need bits or advice, PH Marine is unbelievably good.
When I had 1 tab fail it was a cracked ram and the oil had leaked out. Expensive I thought.
Nope, the owner of this place came out from the cupboard with just the top bit of the ram, explained at length how to fit it, then said he couldn't be bothered to do an invoice for such a small part and gave it to me!

Check the solenoids first, swap them over and see if the problem swaps sides with it....be very careful when removing them though there's a spring and a piston that will fall out when you remove them.

My last boat (1999 model) developed a leak from the ram seal on the port side tab summer 2008.
Contacted Bennet direct and explained problem.
2 days later and a full set of seals arrive FOC!
Customer service unsurpassded in my opinion.
