Try the Beneteau Owners Site at www.beneteau-owners.com There are several 30 and 30E's registered and the profiles sometimes give owners opinions of their boats.
We have a 32 of the same vintage which has been good enough to keep us interested for 4 years and hopefully many more. Performance on all points except hard on the wind is very good. Accomodation is a bit tight at the ends but otherwise fine.
Beneteaus seem to be built a bit heavier then than now.
Agree with the other posting that condition of the boat you are looking at is probably of bigger concern, also the amount of equipment it has - and is at all working o.k.
Best if you can get one that has been re-engined, as 19 years is a bit long for the original and a new one ain't cheap. Also check out the sails and rig. The boats sail well but good sails make a lot of difference.
All in all a good choice if it's a good un!.
Enjoy whatever you get.

The 30E (Berret design) was a totally different boat to the First 30 (Mauric design) it has a more modern profile with wide beam and flater underbody etc. The 305 which replaced the 30E is very similar, based on the same hull mould, but had a diferent transom arrangemnt and the rudder was moved aft for the 305 slightly. Also the internal arrangemnt was quite a bit diuffernt.

We sailed, as a small family, a 305 for 7 seasons in a wide variety of conditions betwen Scotland and Cornwall as well as Brittany to Germany and always had full confidence in the design.

If it is in good condition at the right price would be a great yacht IMHO
