Hi
I am trying to replace the original outlet pipe on my Beneteau's toilet.

The pipe is aprox 1-1/4" OD but on each end there is a short piece of white rubber sleeve about 3" long bonded to the outside with what looks like Sikaflex. The spigots on the toilet and the seacock are both about 1 1/4 OD but with the rubber sleeve's the pipe goes on easily.
I bought a new pipe after measuring the diameter of the old one (in the middle :o ) but there is no way it will stretch over the fittings and whatever the rubber sleeve's were bonded to the plastic with it won't come apart without destroying it, someone must have had the same problem? I may just have to buy a larger pipe if one is available.
Thanks
Pete

We too have a benny. We came across the same issue as you. You need 38mm ( one and a half ins ) pipe. It is recommended to buy a high quality pipe. A high quality pipe is less likely to allow smells to transfer to the outside and will be more flexible than a cheaper pipe. Heating the end of the pipe in some hot water and smearing the hose tail with fairy liquid should see the new pipe on fine.

Thanks
I thought that might be the case. I guess Beteteau must have the pipes made specially for them.

I have had similar problems with a bilge pump. I managed to buy a converter that allowed the two different sizes of pipe to be joined together. I am a bit hazy about the supplier, but I think it may have been Vetus and I got them from Arthur's Chandlery or Youboat in Gosport. The only problem is that you do lose some of the diameter.

I would heartily endorse the ASAP Seaflow grey butyl hose. Far easier to work with than the traditional stiff white stuff, and reputed to be more effective at keeping the smells on the inside. JFM over on the motorboat forum specifically requested it for the miles of plumbing in his latest million-pound creation, and knowing his level of research and attention to detail that says a lot to me.
