Beneteau First 285

I am considering buying a First 285 with lift keel - does anyone know if they can sit on the bottom regularly if the mooring dries out ? We are restricted by.length and need to dry out on our mooring. Many thanks Jennie

The First 285 lift-keeler has a stub keel and centreboard plus twin rudders: designed to dry out on the three points of keel and rudder tips. OK if always very sheltered when drying out, but I wouldn't want to subject the rudders to much bumping or surging if there was any potential swell in the harbour in some wind directions.

That's very helpful, many thanks. We are at top of river Dart in Totnes so this should not be a problem -we just have to find one for sale - most are fin keel !
