I looked at one as a potential purchase and I think it would be highly unlikely that they would plane.

About 7-8 knots in the right conditions. You’d need three things to get it to plane.
About 40 knots off the quarter.
40 sq metres of the finest 1.5 oz ripstop nylon.
Huge Cajones.
