I am thinking of buying either a First 211 or the Sun 2000. Has anyone got any views on the pros and cons of these two trailer sailers?

Cannot comment on the Jeanneau but we had a 211 last year and really enjoyed it. It sailed well and had good accomadation for the size. Depends what you want to do with them.

There was a post on this topic within the last two weeks. Although the 2000 has its merits, I would go for the 211- only my 2p's worth...

same position a few years back. went for 9 mth old 211, loved it to bits, got money back+ on resale. 4 of us would weekend easily and often. the 2000 got a dodgy test review in that the centreplate came up in a fresh breeze, not what u want really. the only concern with a 211 is if you are planning to do a lot of launching here there and everywhere. the lifting keel means that you need alot more water than normal to get her in/out. we used a tractor in the same place, no problem, but if you are using a car, get an extension bar for the trailor. other thing that is essential are the poles that guide you in and out when launching.

consider carefully what o/board as well.

if u get one pm me for few modifications etc.

if new, avoid blue or yellow hull, blemishes show up faster than beckhams blushes.

hi i looked at the sun 2000 before i got my new 211.

there is no comparison..

the 211 is vastly more a superior boat....

the sun 2000 is a bit tippy, and smaller....and cheaper too.

go for the 211......

211 is more tender than the 2000 despite more weight in the keel. The reason is that the 2000 has much much more form stability so firms up much more quickly than the bene.
