We recently completed purchase of a single owner 2005 Bene 9 with a D4 225. With the boat now safely back in Gosport following a 12 hour run back Plymouth, I'm working through the things we didn't get to the bottom of back in Plymouth. There are a couple of things that have me stumped, despite having the not particularly useful owners manual. Any help with the below appreciated.

1) We have a shorepower attachment to starboard and this powers the battery charger, calorifier and mains sockets. I cannot locate the breaker for the mains circuit nor any switches for the individual circuits. Every boat I've owned has had such a panel with meter, breaker and switches. I've looked everywhere.... manual no help. This must exist... surely....?
2) Under the companionway top step are the battery switches. To starboard there is a breaker, black with yellow detailing, marked '80A'. What is this for?
3) Also under the compnaionway to port there is a switch operated by a burgundy key. What is this for? (Battery cross connect?)

Finally, there is no autmatic bilge pump fitted as far as I can tell; something that will soon be rectified, but seriously...

Thanks in advance :)

Not the same boat but similar DNA...

2 - my guess would be for the windlass.
3 - for the bow thruster I'd assume.

Nice boat, first impressions?

2 - yes could be, I'll test that
3 - Maybe it cross connects bow thruster to main batts. I'll try that too.

We've very pleased with the boat; only made thrree trips so far, though one was that 135nm Plymouth to Gosport trip. Has a very nice ride and good seakeeping, if a little wet. Very differnt to my fast but hard riding and bouncy Prestige 34. Gettting used to the 14 knot cruise will take a while.

That's a good test trip! Yes, my 805 is a wet boat, particularly in a head sea, and not too quick but makes up for it in other ways.

Thanks bluejasper2.
So the battery charger is new and located starboard side in the cupboard behind the helm. Maybe there are breakers as part of that as I couldn't see any in engine bay, but I may have missed them. I'l look again tomorrow now I know where they should be.

if its any help i just fitted a garage consumer unit in the cupboard behind the dash so we could have rcd protection and ease of access. also we had our shore power inlet
which was fitted by beneteau moved as was under side access step so water always running over it.

So the new battery charger in the cupboard behind the dash does have an RCD and circuit breakers for the mains and calorifier circuits as well, which is good. Not quite sure how I missed these before, but hey ho. Our shorepower inlet is in the same place as yours pe-move, and yes the water from the side deck just sluices over it. Thanks fir your help .
