Hi folks,

Just wondering if anyone on board has first hand experience with the new Antares 8 ? Or can someone point me towards a test or review.

Thinking about pre-ordering for next season but curious about sea keeping and general performance etc.

Thanks for reading

It is an Antares, so it is 'almost' bullet proof.

I see they offer 'propeller protection' in the options. If this an metal extension to the keel, it is worth considering, especially if you intend to dry out.

The original post was made in June 2008 and he didn't follow it up then so there is little hope of him following it up now.

Anyway, your link does not work.

Hi to all,
I have a Beneteau Antares 8 and live in Turkey.
This August I had a problem and I want to share with you;
I have an Antares 8 powered by Nanni 200 hp..And I was very happy with her since had a problem..One summer day on the way to marina My boats engine mountings suddenly broke down and gearbox was damaged ..
Luckly with some adventures and helpful fishermen we could turned back to marina...
At first I thought I kicked something that i didnt noticed or a peace of rope..but when i dived there was no damage on propeller .
I called the agent of Beneteau in istanbul ,they told me that i was the 4th boat that had the same problem.and the engine mountings were too weak for this boat..They changed the mounting and gear box after two months..
Now i am so unhappy that if will have this problem again..
Did any of you hear or had such a problem?

Engine mountings - beneteau antares 8

Greetings All, I am in the process of purchasing an Antares 8 but now having second thoughts having read atansev 16-12-10 report on failed engine mountings. Can anyone advise if they have had similar problems, or indeed any problems with the Antares 8 ?
Many thanks in advance.

Hi Barry, this is an old thread and some people may not have set the view options to see old threads.

I suggest you start a new thread - you can link to this one - or PM the person you want to question and I would also remove your email address as it will be spammed out of existence.

Oh yes, and welcome to the forum.
