Beneteau Antares 30

I like this style of boat. Protection from weather, enclosed for young kids, flybridge, cheaper maintenance single engine etc. But I couldn't afford the Bene 30, nor Merryfisher 10(very similar) as quite recent.
I went for Merryfisher 925 -gets you slightly dated version of above, less one berth. 4 inches smaller and £40k+ different. sternthruster advisable not essential.
Good luck looking.Dan

Hi I have had one since 2010---https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8MlWQbdld3s Have a look at the URL Its a Motor Boat & Yachting's boat test & they like it!

The only issue I have is reverse with a single engine takes a bit of practice but don't let it worry you. A must have is a bow thruster & a stern thruster would be nice but not essential. My factors for the purchase were --cheap (HO Ho its a boat!) to run -single engine, a decent fly bridge ,wife required heating, patio doors to keep it warm & dry & a decent usable toilet(head). It seemed to fit the bill. Blue hulls need looking after but look nice in my opinion but the new colour looks good to. There is a long ongoing thread on this forum rf this boat as well. It was our second boat as well & to have hot running water, heating & all mod cons was luxury compared to our old bayliner. Ours has a Yanmar engine but Volvo now fitted I believe. Yanmar has been no trouble. A couple of people on this forum have one. Watch the drain on the flybridge doesnt block----a shower for you if it does!!--I know!!!!!!

There you go.

I have had the Seamotion version since last August and think it is great. I spent 3 years looking at the alternatives but always came back to the 30 as it ticked all the boxes for me. Boat looks good too. The longer I have it the more it seems to grow on me. The only issues I would mention, as already stated, are the Flybridge drain (get a flybridge cover made) and the Stern Thruster which is essential in my view.
