Beneteau 260 Spirit / 25.7 Keel Dropped

Hi All,
Am I the only person to be having problems with my lifting keel stripping the brass lifting nut and dropping the keel?
I am also finding it very hard to get trim info etc.So anyone got one out there who might like to bat a few ideas around?

Hi Ian,

There is a useful site for 210/211 owners at http://first210.org/, which has some good information in the Tech Notes section about servicing keel lift mechanisms. I appreciate that yours is a 260 rather than 210, but your mention of stripped brass nuts (painful /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif) sounds similar to the situation experienced by 210 owners.

I will have a look at that. It has happened 3 times now and I only have the boat 4 years. But I have a diver friend who is getting very good at the underwater bit and I carry a spare on board ., we changed the last one in 25 mins. and no expensive lift out.
