Is there a type of masking tape that be a bit bendy? We've going to out on a broad curved waterline and topline, curving up and down respectively.

I seem to vaguely recall a product that can do this...?

Frog tape (B&Q) is a bit bendy when you want it to... we used it on our boot-top curves last year and it was very good.

Blue masking tape from B&Q works fine, when masking for antifouling, I can go completely round the boat (starlight 35) in one go with this tape, including all the curved stern sections......

Depends on the boat, of course, but on any of the curves on ours (even the tight bit under the stern counter) ANY masking tape that is 25mm (or less) wide will go to enough of a curve. I tend to stretch it though. I start at the bow and make sure the first foot or so is well stuck down, then I pull it quite hard and offer- up only the bottom edge (where the antifouling will stop) and stick that to the hull. In some curved areas, the top edge of the tape won't really touch the hull - maybe even curve outwards away from it a bit. It's only really the bottom edge that needs to stick well. I can squint along the line of the tape to make sure it's not too wavy. Usually do a few feet at a time. I don't like to use TOO narrow a masking tape because it makes it easier to get a wavy curve rather than a smooth one.

Having re-read the requirements, I agree. Use 19mm or 25mm wide 3M 3434 on the tighter curves, backed up with a second strip. Then use 50mm wide on the long runs.

Thanks for all those tips, plenty of products to choose from. It's not the horizontal curves round The Kippers rounded bum, it's the vertical curve we're going to put going upwards at each end of the waterline and topline.

and do use the blue stuff if you will be leaving it on the boat for more than a day. The normal decorator's stuff becomes non-peel very fast and is a s*d to scrape off
