I have an autohelm ST6000 as my main pilot and I want to have a second stand alone in reserve. I also have the wheel drive unit for a 4000 and a shed load of spares for it including a complete motor and gears! I am considering buying an ST5000 control head which can, I am told, be switched to wheel pilot but what I need to know is can I wire my existing fluxgate compass and rudder reference from the course computer without having to remove the wires every time I switch from one to the other?
