Can anyone tell me of a source of info about the canal system leading from south Belguim to Paris?I want to travel from Leige to somewhere near Paris and the books I've seen don't hold a lot about this area.Any medium -book, web page, blog.I want to travel the senic route and I'm in no rush.If anyone has done the route themselves and can give some insights so much the better.

Have done this route many times (Namur -Pont a Bar- then either Compiegne or Reims - Paris) Given a choice I like Reims and then the Marne.
Charleroi is a very industrialised area but have not done the Sambre so can't comment on that. The fine scenery lasts a lot longer than the grotty bits. Enjoy it.
Imray do (did) a single sheet chart of the French and Belgium canals. Be careful this year as the French have a heavy repair programme and many locks are closed for long periods. VNF will provide info on these closures. We are having to do a long trip via Belgium to by-pass a lock closed for 6 weeks.
PM me if you want specific info about places to stop etc.
