I have installed this app just released and although it needs a bit of fine tuning its good!
No connection with the Kieth Belfield but have used his PC version for years.

Description
Tide Plotter for the Android developed to supplement the extremely popular Windows version.
No internet connection is necessary after the initial installation and contains data for two years up to the end of 2016. Just carry around all your tidal information for the next two years in your pocket without worrying about an internet connection. It is far more than just Tide Tables.

Key features:
Predictions for 2015 and 2016
No internet connection required, the data is stored within the application
Daily tidal graphs showing times, heights, time zone, with the drop to the next low water, sunrise and sunset
Height times at any time of the day
Monthly tables with times and heights
A find facility to produce tables of the time at a pre determined tide height. Absolutely ideal for producing tables for when the lock opens, when to get over the bar etc.

Yes I too like Belfield's products and did a thread mentioning it and some other Android apps:

If Keith had ported his Chartplotter I'd use it as well. The same charts are used by Marine Navigator but no options to get any data over wifi or bluetooth, which I'm sure Chartplotter would be able to do. I'd be happy to pay the same as he charges for the Windows version, though there are now some low cost Windows tablets available (aargh not Windows!)

I've used tide plotter for years on the laptop. absolutely first class. but on the android tablet and phone an app called absolute tides from the google play store is a fraction of the cost (a couple of quid as opposed to about £7 I think Belfield quoted me in their advertising mailer). you get the app free but buy the years tidal data. has a very useful widget that sits on the home screen of your phone and at a glance you can see the stat of the tide at your chosen port. doesn't need an iternet or data connection but has full monthly tide tables and shows tidal curves for the current day so you can see rise and fall for entering marinas or anchoring. i still bought three years of the belfield tide plotter for the laptop though. its useful to have side bu side with the MAridian chart plotting software I have on the laptop for passage planning in comfort at home.

Agreed - I use the PC version of Tide Plotter, but on my Phone, Absolute tides (£2 annually for the data licence) also has a page for tidal streams (detail is not that great, but at least one gets a rough idea of the main tidal direction). Now, If Belfield also included a much more detailed tidal stream feature than the Absolute Tides App, then the £7 looks much more interesting. Also, I do not believe that any of these Apps (UK Tidal Data) include Cherbourg which is the reference port for all the Reeves Fowkes tidal atlases. There should not be a licence issue as surely Cherbourg is outside the Admiralty remit?

Thanks Jon.

Like many others, I have used Belfield for a number of years.

I particularly like the "drop to the next low water" for anchoring. Saves making the mental calculations.

Will definitely get the ap for Android.

I dont mind paying the £8 but 'offers in-app purchases' - anyone know what this means? - will it be demanding more money later to supply the same service?

It usually means there are optional 'extras' available but you don't have to buy. I haven't seen any on the Android app.

Personally I think Google need to tighten up on this feature and make it clear before you install an app for the first time,

a) what features you will get,
b) what the optional extras are
c) what extra features they provide
d) how much they are

So that one can make an informed choice of whether to even bother with the initial install. Memory Map is a good example. Their website describes all the features but fails to make it clear which version you need and how much it costs to use all the features, conversely, just what the restrictions are in the basic versions.
