I'm getting pissed off with being nice to newbies. The Buggers keep Coming in droves. We need a Forum specialy for newbies. That then get alocated? to MBY. PBO or Shutyourcocks. Now Learner obviously arirved at the wrong place. Bit like arriving at the pearly gates too soon. When out of order. Then theres this other rif raff that TCM has collected together. Theres just to many of the buggers I cant keep up!!!

OK, for every 10 nice posts, allowed one shot across bows of newbie.

Given your accuracy, should sink one every time /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

When I was a Newbie there was only me on the original Forum so I had to say nasty things to myself like....
Byron... you are to pretty to be a man
Byron... you have the biggest willy in the world
Byron... you have a brain like a razor
Byron... you'd better stop talking to yourself

I think you'll find this should be pural. As there are are two of them and Haydn also has 2 sides .......
a) The "I'll do anything for anyone" nice, flag making, T-shirt pulling, northerner
b) The "dark side" ...... may the force ......... etc

See trouble is - the dark side is an illusion - its an act, he really is a nice guy all the time and when he tries to be nasty he keeps getting it wrong. Thus everyone has a go at him - not for calling a spade a spade but for being a git. Now don't insult him, lets 'elp him and give him some advice on how to insult people properly !! Big /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

gosh - that was a load of bolli. !!! /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

You so surprise me. I thought this forum was full of ladies and gentlemen doing their up most to help fellow MB's.

This illusion has now been shattered. It's all a front. Throwing the bait in and reeling them in slowly!!! /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

<font color=red>... I want to be back on the water!

Well HLB this'll stir it all up, I'll help you out by ditching this forum- had hoped for a bit of like minded chat, but several recent comments on this forum may suggest otherwise!

I thought seeking advice from others when youre new to things is fairly standard practice... obviously not here. Sorry to have wasted you're time!

But you seem to have got hold of the wrong end of the rowlock Mr Dog. I was only saying that it had got so busy on here yesterday, that I could not keep up. There for, not giving my full attention to solving problems. Coming up with witty remarks. Providing forum flags. Recounting endless tales of adventure on the high seas. It's a time and motion problem, not a wish to offend. Afraid you will have to get used to the witt on here. Dont forget, many have been here for quite a long time and insulting each other is quite the norm. Now just take my friend Cutey Coli Holic. How would you like to be called that!!! But he does not get angry. Just renames my bloody boat for me. Go on. How would you like your pride and joy renamed to Muckyfarter!!

How does one stop being a Newbie?

Is it when the username description changes to "regular" (15 posts or so is it?) or does the band of old-timers have its own arbitrary criterion? Being a Newbie has benefits - they (I/we) generally get less abuse. Perhaps I should re-subscribe with a different handle?

Re: How does one stop being a Newbie?

Oh. no. everyone gets abuse. It's just that the more weathered we get. It's just like water off a ducks back. No one gets more abuse than the Kimatallah. But you dont here him complaining, do you!!

Re: You do\'nt abuse me!

Na. It would never catch on. You want to have a word with Dickmaster. He suggested that and got hounded off the forum. Not by me I might add.
