What about the FB "ballast"? - you cannot be ready for sea unless you have replenished the FB /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Seeing that no one else has had the decency to point it out. You have not mentioned replenishing the drinks locker.
You dont want to go to sea without a few bottles of wine and at least one malt whisky, plus any old crap that SWMBO wants to drink! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Octoberish
Arrive at yard
Watched boat hauled ashore
Chat with locals
Ran around to find a likely looking ladder
Up ladder to check things -confirmed bilgs nice and dry.
Had a look at foredeck but ooer didn't much fancy that with it being quite high up...
Hastily dismount as yardbod + jetwash man arrives
Another chat whilst watching jetwashing proceed.
pub/home
Several months later
Yard boss calls to announce antifoul all done. ooher yes, and yoiu did mention the polishing so um, well yes we've done that too a bit, sort of but we don't believe in too much of these new products.
Visit to boat with chequebook and swmbo for moral support. All is well as account settled. Decide on brief look round inside with swmbo- but previous ladder disappeared. Gits. There againit might have been theirs. Find another ladder and tie it on. Swmbo notices slightly bacon-tinged interior aroma and removes curtains and bunk cushion for washing/dry cleaning. Home in the rain.
Feb
Visit to yard to refit newly-smart cushion covers and curtains. Long chat with someone else. Realised forgot cushion covers, and it is too dark for curtain fixing. Pub.
March
Another visit to yard for special purpose of refitting newly cleaned curtains and cushion covers. Very arduous with fiddly curtains and a bit lonely. More chats later with others fixing their boats, and pub.
Late March
Chat with a sailmaker in the yard, who suggests possibility of new sails? Heart failure averted as yard chap agreees he will have a look at them anyway for no charge.
Early April
Further chat with sailmakey chap, who says he has had a look at the sails, and no question about it they are sails. Hasty agreement that they will do for another year, and we can most definitely consider replacement next year. Make mental note not to come here next year under any circumstances.
