Rouges gallery if ever there was one !!!!!!......... GREAT night and great to put faces to the screen names !!.... MEGA THANKS TO THE ORGANISER MR OGARYO of this parish...

A really great night and a great mix of people from sail and power, have not had such an enjoyable evening for some time, I think I got back to my boat at about 01:30 hrs after a post pub drink (or three) :) :)

Glad everyone enjoyed the get together, a very good turn out in the end approaching 40 or so people allowing us to take over the main eating area. I've a video that I'll post later but for now, here's some 'blurry' shots.. Thanks in particular to Colin (Colhel) for organising the raffle, all those that donated some awesome prizes and Mark (Elessar) for being the perfect after dinner host in the marina. Thanks also to a certain few that quaffed my bottle of Bowmore in the early hours of Sunday morning, you know who you are ;)

A certain confirmed yottie helped me get evenstar back to the Itchen later in the day. Can't spoil his rep so I'm not telling :) He was seen to smile though :)

Very nice wine indeed you brought over too Gerry. Thought you lot only did fray bentos and beer :) :)

My thanks go to Gary for organising the event, Colin for driving the the raffle (and to all those that donated the prizes) but particular to all those who attended (from far and near) that made it such great night out.
Stated in "the rules" of Beer and Natter, someone new must now take up the mantel of organising of the next one, please can we do it again in the spring? lets get a date and venue in the diary, who is going to pick up the challenge ?

Great night good to meet up with old friends and meet some new ones.

Mark, it's just a rumour yotists put about years ago, they always have the best food and wine cellars on board, I believe it's something to do with the fact they don't have to buy hundreds of gallons of the red stuff at five quid a gallon;)

What a great night! Totesamazeballs doesn't even come close.

Great to meet lots of new friends, special thanks to Spotty Dog for the trip on his pup Saturday morning but mostly to Gary and Col. Lots of effort by those 2 ensured a great night.

Was not sure who was most in need of assistance leaving evenstar 4 kwackers or col lol.

Hope to see you all before Christmas and kwackers next year for our trip up t north

.
They do cheap winter berths so are full in the winter with trott based hamble boats.

Now you tell me, I wondered why it was chockers, thanks for that. :o

Still, thanks to STEVE D for the lift from Mercury, he's a professional driver so the lift back was safe and sober! Didn't we do well?

As stated above, a really good evening and always nice to meet old and new friends. Good job Gary, and the raffle was excellent Col.:encouragement:

How about that Northern pair? What heroes?
Thanks for coming down, we weren't that weird were we? :ambivalence:

I have to admit I was a bit nervous, after all I have been to London where trying to chat to people just get's you a funny glance before they turn & walk away. But we came down Friday night to suss out the joint & park up.

Thanks to Lisilou for the name check that got us mentioned in the despatches for the Night Watch. We never saw a soul in the marina & hid the van between a couple of large raggies, but when we went to see the security guy in the morning, he knew who we were & where we'd been (including walking the mutt - good job I remembered the little black bags!)

We went to the Ship Friday night - so that the locals would know what to expect & much to our surprise we were welcomed like one of the family - just like in a proper Northern pub. :encouragement:

On Saturday Colhel kindly picked us up & set us off on the famous Spotty Dog rib run. I didn't think it would be possible to breathe at 40kts, but we survived, however, wake jumping with 8 people on board doesn't get you far out of the water it seems.

The Ship was virtually a private party in the evening, absolutely brilliant, lovely food, & thanks for the magic beer glass, Roger. Great fun meeting everyone, but it may take me a while to work out who everyone was on here! I have some pics, but need to edit/ upload first - so expect some PM's if I think you are with the wrong partner, I will only publish if the payments are not made.

BTW, I have never been so politely stopped from leaving without paying before. Gary is obviously so much more practiced than I, as he actually managed to get out of the premises before being brought back to pay. But that was just the start, Mark proved the perfect host for the second event of the evening before we finally left his boat full of empties & washing up at 2 am. I think Col & Kwacka won the "falling down" competition - both had clearly worked hard at working up their thirst over the preceding weeks.

It proved a somewhat slow start to the following day, with only Kwacka, Colin & SWMBO managing to claim their egg & bacon breakfast butties at the Camper Café.

Once we were sure Mark had tidied up the mess we'd left in his boat we were happy to get a free jolly along the Solent again to watch him squeeze a 20' wide boat into a 21' wide hole with a diagonal approach - Very impressive. Even then, the locals had organised a £10 note fishing game for our entertainment, where a berth holder throws money in the water & everyone else tries to get it out. Apparently this is a local tradition, because the berth manager had a big landing net handy & clearly always wins.

Excellent meet guys & gals - all that alcohol & not a single fight all weekend, unbelievable! Well worth the trip down - thanks for such a great welcome.
