Beer and Natter

Hi Gary,

Glad to hear your back on your feet.

Count Alison and myself in, would prefer somewhere dog friendly if possible but not a deal breaker.

Looking forward to seeing all of the forumites and catching up

Regards

Andy

Great to have you guys on board Andy and yep, it's a given that the venue needs to accept pooches so will ensure that's the case else I know of a few regulars that may not be able to attend. See you there :encouragement:

We'll be there. I thought the one at Swanwick worked very well due to the informal approach to eating and mingling and in my view we should look for a venue that could do something similar.

Nice one Col, thanks also for agreeing to spread the word on Scuttle Butt, will be great to have attendance from both sectors of the boating community again :encouragement:

The Old Ship at Swanwick is pooch friendly in the bar area.

Hi Paul, we convinced them to allow the pooches downstairs in the end considering we had the whole of the back area to ourselves. It'll be a likely candidate for a revisit if I can confirm they'll do the same again. We just need the numbers confirmed first. Will you be coming out to play?

The Navigator is also dog friendly (not in restaurant obviously) so may be worth considering if you're thinking Swanwick.

:)

I've seen a few dogs in Sin City.

We would be up for something. What about the Navigator as a change? Had very good food in there and possibly this time of year is a bit quieter so we might get a private dining area ?

Henry :)

Navigator's on the list buddy as are you and yours :encouragement:. I am down Ocean Village at the moment and intend to have a bit to eat in Hamble Village later so will pop in to the Navigator to sound them out.

The Nav' was suggested by Mrs Rowe, who incidentally has yet to confirm her attendance.. nothing like suggesting a party venue then pooping on said party. come on Lisa, don't be shy, you and Chris will enjoy this one :very_drunk:

mmmm just carried out a little research on the Navigator.. private function room minimum £100 booking fee and no dogs allowed in the Navigator which may put some off. Will keep it on the list all the same and as per my original post, go with the flow

Hmmm then they have some ugly, hairy backed patrons with 4 legs then lol.

:)
P.S...me? shy? pahahaha. As ever, it's Chris dependent but we will for sure if we can :)

Count us in but very dependant on what date you have in mind. The work and social diary for the next three months is filling up quickly!

Any idea on dates Gary ? Navigator would not be my first choice, I think its a bit pretentious, especially won't suit our flappy friends :)

Tend to agree on the Navigator Roy if most are of the same opinion. I guess we could go for the old faithful (The Old Ship) if folk are more up for meeting people rather than the venue itself.. they know us and are likely to be more accommodating as a result. What does everyone think, shall I make enquiries to secure us downstairs at The Old Ship in Swanwick?

All, date wise, an October date is likely to be too short notice for some as per Paul's comment (work commitments etc) how about Saturday 15th November, to allow those wanting to celebrate Halloween on the weekend of the 1st to do so and then I'd imagine some will celebrate Bonfire night the following weekend so that counts that out too. The 15th then becomes the first weekend without much going on in the seasonal calendar.
