Well I saw the Windy 8800 yesterday and it was love at first sight. Seems in great condition and I have put an offer on it subject to survey. Bloody long day though - up at 02:00 to catch the train and home again at 19:00. I'm still knackered!

Oh 'eck! Its very big compared to my ickle runabout!!!

Hey and guess what...its got 100 gals of LPG capacity and 50 gals petrol. All stowed amid ships. This (if you used it all at reasonable speed) would give a stupedous 400 mile range!!

Well done Dave. So when do you get your hands on her then?

Fingers crossed for you mate... hope the survey doesn't show anything serious. Ignore all the soppy things a Surveyor puts in to justify his fees.

Thanks Byron. If it passes muster on survey, then I get to transport it home - then my problems start, so to speak.

a) Never owned a twin engine boat before
b) Haven't a clue what all those switches and dials are for
c) Its big compared to what I own right now
c) ...errr...OK - I'll get used to it :)
d) Yippeeeee!!!

Thanks Dom. The survey is probably going to be completed on Wednesday, weather permitting, and if it passes muster, then I will arrange for transport to North Wales. Hell - if I had the time, I could motor it round with a 400 mile cruising range!

So my guess is approx. 2 weeks.

Its exiting and scary at the same time. Since 1974 all I have done is bomb around in ski boats and although I gained my ICC in January, this thing is in a different league to what I am used to. Something tells me I'll enjoy it though...

I trust your 805 is treating you well?

You'll find a bigger twin screw boat easier to handle and I'm sure you'll know what the dials are for after eleventytwo decimal seconds.

Well done Dave as Byron says twin screw = easier handling. Windies are great boats from what I here too. Congrats. Go on take her round. I picked my new one up from Menorca brought her round to Costa Del Sol, just short of Gib , 550nm wonderful.

Thanks Suncoast - I really am very tempted...

I have some leave coming up mid August, if this coincides, I might just do it.

What a way to learn about my new boat!!!
