Having sold my Victory 40 in 2003, the itch has caught us again and we have plunged into ownership again.

I wasn't expecting to buy for 2 years - when I retire, but SWIMBO - bless her - decided that she had found the one she wanted.

So after having looked at some 20 boats - mostly so badly turned out and still wanting full price, we finally made an offer for an Oceanlord of 1991 vintage.

And what a beautifully maintained boat she is. So now awaiting survey on Feb 6th so hoping there are no surprises.

I'll have my fingers crossed for you for a favourable survey on the Oceanlord. We have just bought a Southerly 115 after 8 years of non (big boat) ownership. Can't think why but we sold our previous boat and bought a smallholding. However, we have now sold the smallholding and are afloat again - whoopee! Have fun. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Ah, once bitten, you can't really shake it off. In between boats, we dipped out toes into house in France, classic jag/owners club stuff and chartering, but we missed the whole boat scene, so yes the bills and the chandlery visits continue. That's a good solid boat you're buying, hope everything goes well with your survey.

Hi - couldn't come to the apres boatshow do - because we were doing the deal - anyway - hope it all went well!

I believe you are looking for a rag and stick job?

Congrats

Tantalising isn't it - that period between offer accepted and survey confirmation. We have just been through it with our Moody 425 after about 10 years without a boat.

In all that time all it took to get me nostagic was to hear or see a halyard tapping on a flagpost. Its a drug isn't it! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
