I know that there have been other posts about "A" but you have to see it up close to really see what a monstrosity it is.

I think the designer must have been a real muppet

Ah roll on the next visit.........................

Nice pics. Agree the vessel in the 2nd pic looks like a kids lego experiment gone wrong - truely hideous looking junk heap. However the ketch in the forground looks rather classy.

WOW ! she looks fantastic, what a incredible yacht, awe inspiring, conversational, innovative, futuristic, challenging and unique.......

The other one looks like a thousand before it /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif boring...zzzzzzzz

ah, well if thats to your taste, take a look at this that turned up in the early evening and anchored just at the entrance to the Bay.

As it got dark it lit up like a Christmas tree with lights all over the masts, and around the pilot house windows. It was suggested that it could belong to Fat Boy Slim and it does look similar to the one on his web site except that has a white hull. Nevertheless still clearly a real party boat.

Re: Beauty & the Beast

Looks like a Turkish Gulet. More often than not great value, though I'd prefer to be swimming distance from shore. That may be an unfair remark, so apologies to those who certainly know better than I. It's just that I haven't heard of many (any? though there's one in Thailand) making long voyages.

I wonder if that innovative design will have the Sucess and Style a Perini Navi shows after 20 years of its launch
time will tell
but Perini first picture is the winner here for me

I saw a Perini Navi (Galaxia) at Yacht Haven in Phuket recently. Stunning. Probably unremarkable in the Med, but WOW, what a boat.

Liberty came to Malta a few times and IMO she is as you say stunning and one of the most beautiful ever built by the Viareggio builder, wherever she is
I think that 52 metre is one of the most beautiful Perinis, in fact a few sistership to Liberty have been delivered

the nice thing of this design is that it can be modern as you like thanks to the raised flybridge area and flowing stern, but it has so much Classic flair coming out if it in all CONTEMPORARY is the only word here

I think A is a stunning design. Gotta admire people who make stuff different

Perini Navis can be pretty dull all round, mostly. All the parts come from catalogues, no advanced design. Many don't sail well and just motor around. There are some exceptions though. The Perini in your pic is interesting though because it's the first time Perini have built a massive sloop. It's Salute, a 2008 launch, 56m. The mast is the 2nd tallest ever, after Mirabella 5. It's the tallest aluminium mast ever - M5's is carbon. Designed by Ron Holland (who did M5). The mast is 72m which i guess (haven't checked) means it can't get under Golden Gate or transit the Panama canal.
