Had dinner at the dreaded Master Builders Arms the other day. Not in the horrible bar but in the restaurant. It was very good believe it or not! Also they were entirely children friendly if one dined early. There was also a very famous author dining near us....

Have to say that I don't think it's as bad as others claim, though imho you are paying over the odds for the view in the Restaurant.

The Bar food is so-so (in fact, I had quite a nice fish pie there a few weeks ago) but the main problem for those with kids is that it's a chip-free zone. Several reasonable alternative kid's dishes are available, but it's not the same when they were expecting saturated fat and carbohydrate. The Bacon baguettes are good, though, so we fobbed 'em off with those. :o)
