Oh s..t. Booked the Grand de vere for two nights, I wonder if they will give me a refund? Anyone any good ideas as to where to go? :)

Get tickets for the Southampton-Coventry match to see if Saints can finally get promoted to the Premiership.

Otherwise take a drive through the New Forest, visit the Beaulieu motor museum, shopping in West Quay, loads of other places.

I wonder what the stats are like.

Were all stall holders warned in time? My 'phone call arrived at 1645 on Friday. 15 minutes later and I would have missed it.

What about visitors from the Continent?

On a fine day, we would have expected to sell half a dozen MastaClimbas and well worth the visit. Today, I am sure we would have sold none.

Tough on the organisers; I wonder what they lost.

Difficult decision buy the right one.

I am so glad I checked their internet site late last night. I did it by chance, if I'd driven 220 miles, and lost an entire day, to find it cancelled, I would have been very upset to say the least. I was really looking forward to it too.

I imagine a lot of people will drive long distances today to be very dissappointed!

Well I went anyhow - nice to look round the cars and grounds.

Not very busy.

I booked advance tickets and a very nice voice message was left on Friday to advise of the cancellation.

Can't say I spotted anyone turning up and being disappointed at the cancellation, but guess there must have been some.

I think cancelling was the right thing to do as the persistent drizzle did create a very real slip hazard :-).

The New Forest looked more like a lake, so suspect it was more to do with just being impossible to operate with the field being so waterlogged, than any H&S issue.

couldnt cancel my hotel in new forrest so went down anyway for a night away from kids with the mrs.
had a nice meal last night. came back this morning owing to weather being so yucky. So, to sum up about £250 for a nice meal and a pointless night away. which is nothing compared to my dissapointment at not going jumbling. due to work commitments missed it for last few years. finally got the leave this year..... boo! pity their calendar is too busy to re-shedule.

Don't worry, you'll be able to get rid of it all on E-bay!

www.ebid.net

ebid is cheaper, buy the right membership deal then you never have to pay listing fees or final thingy fees, you get up to five free photos per sale, because their is less in fees in fact nothing if you dont choose extras you also have less paperwork.

I dont earn anything by saying this and have not offered a referel link as you can see.

:D

The thing is will you make the effort next year?

My mum who is in her late 60's came down especially. She would of been down for the motor jumble as well but now...

Alright for us who are relatively close, I know of atleast one set of campers who got to there campsite to be advised

Beaulieu need to be careful or visitors and exhibitors may start to think twice...
