A mate had a couple of pitches which I helped out with, seemed quieter than usual, not as many stalls and far fewer electronic dealers than in the past. Was it the crap weather forecast or is there just a diminishing number of people interested in this type of event?

Well it still took me 6 hours to get round, with only 2 pints of Guinness to impede progress. Didn't even stop for a Burger.
Staggered to the exit with all 3 of us well laden at 4:15.
The only things we didn't get were a pair of size 8 winches for T_S's boat, and a decent long flagstaff for my boat.
Weather was great, not too hot, no rain until time to go home. Well worth the trip down from Essex, will come again next year if my Company car is still fully funded.

Last time I went it was a sea of mud, long queues on the road in and at the pay booth. Half a mile hike to the car park. Never again.

We got there at 9.45 and got parked in the second row of cars in the top field.
Normally at that time there are at least 30 rows of cars parked - never known it so quite first thing, though it did get busier as the day went on
Got a couple of nice bargains 50m of new 14mm anchor warp for £20, two Ocean size 2 genoa cars for £10, a webasto heater timer for £10 and a new copy Greek Waters Pilot for £10
Weather was good, just right and the rain left off at least untill after we left
All in all a good day out

Never been before so didn't know what to expect but will go again. However next time I will remember not to leave hands empty for too long as liable to quickly turn into the pack horse for friends. I think I got some good deals; one of which was £10 for a pair of binoculars (which could be sold on eBay to cover admission.)

It is the admission fee that puts me off. An extra £16 (for SWMBO) and me doesn't justify any saving I might make on buying the odd thing I might want from the classified ads or a second hand shop. Plus, I needed the brownie points to get us on the boat for 2 days of painting and engine wrestling next weekend.

The excessive admission put me off as well. My shopping list - even allowing for the odd too good to miss bargain that I haddn't allowed for just didn't justify it. I'd have liked to go for a wander round, but not at that price.

I have to say Steve the admision was a bit steep, but then again if your going there to buy something at a knock down price like I did (thanks Jim!) then it's all well worth every penny mate.
