Has anyone experience of Bearing Buddies, or any similar product? If so, how do they fair (the trailer gets dunked about 20 times a year or so).

Cheers

Dave.

Excellent things, IMHO, although I did have one fall off at speed on the motorway, so I wouldn't have liekd to have been following me.

Hi,

I had them on my last trailer and well worth the money. All you do is keep a Grease Gun with the boat and prior to dunking and/or setting off, pump it full of grease. Ensures the bearings are always well greased and they last longer as well. The best thing is that you can set off on a long trip without worrying (and I used to tow down to Spain!)

Cheers

Paul

I had the wheel hubs drilled and threaded to accept grease nipples, easily accessible from the outside, no wheel removal just a quick squirt with the grease gun after each dipping forced any water out of them.

Ah yeah but thats too simple init. I've done that with every trailer I've had, never wasted money on the bearing buddy things. For what they do, or are supposed to do, they're not worth the money. A gimmiick. think about it. Look at it logically and methodically......they do basically bugger all. Your better off filling the hub cap and pushing that back on. All IMHO of course!

Yeh I used to use this effective method when i used to trail, thers a hell of a build up of greese and muck on the back of the wheels. Still this beats travelling home on 3 wheels like some i have witnessed.
