Really enjoyed it. Meant to take a trip on the refitted Balmoral this year but didn't get round to it; will certainly do so next season.

My brother got a job on the cardiff queen in the late 60s..he was 14 and in charge of the deck chairs.

Thought it was an excellent programme. Brought back memories of being seasick on either Bristol or Cardiff Queen between Penarth and Ilfracombe, or was it Lundy, in a flat calm. I was only about eight at the time. Used to love watching the engines.
Speaking of memories, about the same time, probably middle 1950's being taken down to Penarth Docks and the basins ( about 4 of them ) were full of cocooned minesweepers and frigates. And Rabiotis icecreams down on the front.
