BBC radio in Europe

Can anyone help with this?
We are living aboard in the Med, we have heard about portable radios with a small satellite dish that can pick up radio 2 and 4 and presuamably other too via the Astra satellites.

Is this true?
Where is it avalable?
Where can you get the radios?

Never heard of them but as the radio is on the same beam as the tv I don't see how the dish could be any smaller than the 80cm dish recommended for S Europe.

I think you are alluding to the WorldSpace system radios. They have a 4 inch dish. The get two different beams of the World Service plus Bloomberg,CNN, WRN and about 40 other EnglishSpeaking radio stations, mainly music.

I have tried to get the BBC to put the Radios 1 to 5 on their spare frequencies without success.

The radios cost £80 plus. The Htachi I use is good and various companies sell it for £150.
