BBC Great British Holidays - Rock

Interesting that both programmes in the series so far have been about sailing holidays - to some extent.

But oh dear, how Rock has changed. Used to go there for family holidays in the 60's, driving down in the Cortina with the tent in the Enterprise on the trailer. Looks a bit different now!

I've not been there but my wife did years and years ago - said she wouldn't go back having seen that programme. A victim of its own success.

Seems to be the same with most seaside hoilday destinations, including those in France of all places. Never been to Rock but used to go to Whitstable in the 70's and that has changed when I last visited a few years ago.

Can you buy rock in Rock? If yes, do they bother to write Rock in their rock, or is it self-evident?

There's no doubt that Rock is in a beautiful place, but that doesn't mean that Rock is a beautiful place. I live about 30 miles away, and I know no-one that lives locally that goes there. I think it depends on daddy's income whether you fit in or not. It's across the estuary from Padstein, which may be a factor....

Seemed to me to be the ideal place to avoid!!!!!!! then again living on the west coast of Scotland I guess I am spoilt!!
