Hi Folks i have just purchased a bayliner 285 with a yanmar diesel engine can anyone give me advice on winterising.

I have no instructions on where everything is in the boat, does onyone know where to get a manual for it also any good parts & spares suppliers would be appreciated.

it has a switch for warm air heating but nothing hapens when i switch on do they have a thermostat switch.

you should have a user manual with the engine - after that it's the full workshop manual (from a Yanmar agent)

there should also be a certificate of conformity re CE with the boat, and this will give you basic wiring, water and engine systems data eg bilge pump data, drains...

with regard to warm air heating you will appreciate that without some idea as to the system installed it's very difficult to guess what's happening! Generally however hot air systems do have a thermostatic control - but equally generally 'something' will happen when you switch it on if it's working...
